Metals (e.g. aluminum) make up the largest group of elements at around 80 %. With the exception of mercury, all metals are solid at room temperature. They have some common properties, such as electrical conductivity and the typical metallic luster, i.e. the typical metal properties. Due to their aggregate state, metals are particularly suitable for laser engraving and laser marking.

The laser systems predestined for this, such as laser engravers, emit radiation with a wavelength of 1064 nm. This wavelength is excellently absorbed by metallic materials, which is the prerequisite for high-quality laser marking and laser engraving.
