With the integration of the micro QR code, ACI is expanding the functionality of its in-house laser software, Magic Mark, to include a particularly space-saving code variant. This is ideal for applications where only very small marking areas are available, but where unique and machine-readable identification is required.
Micro QR Code Expands Laser Marking Options in Magic Mark
The new code type opens up additional possibilities, particularly in laser marking and laser engraving: serial numbers, component IDs, production codes, batch information, and compact traceability data can now be permanently and precisely applied even to the smallest surfaces.

A Wide Range of Applications for Mini Encoders
Industries in which miniaturization, traceability, and permanent direct marking are critical stand to benefit the most. These include, for example, the electronics industry, medical technology, the automotive supply industry, precision engineering, aerospace, tool and mold making, and the watch and jewelry industry. Laser systems enable precise, permanent, and high-contrast marking even on the smallest surfaces. Therefore, the laser marking process is ideally suited for micro-QR codes.

The Micro QR Code complements Magic Mark’s existing code libraries, which already include DataMatrix codes, QR codes, barcodes, and PDF417. The Micro QR Code is an ideal solution, especially when only a limited amount of data is required but the available marking area is very small.
