Who we are
ACI Laser GmbH was founded in 1999 by Mirko Wunderlich in Sömmerda. The company specializes in laser material marking in the industrial sector. The name ACI stands for innovative and high-quality laser solutions developed by a dedicated and owner-managed team.
Our passion for constantly exploring new possibilities in laser technology is still anchored in the DNA of the ACI team today. For over two decades, we have been continuously expanding our range of compact laser processing machines and associated software solutions. From development, production and sales to support and service: everything comes from a single source.

2025
New UV laser for gentle material marking
With the Business Fiber UV, ACI Laser is expanding its portfolio with an innovative UV laser for precise and gentle marking of a wide variety of materials. The system combines proven Business Fiber technology with the advantages of a UV laser source, opening up new possibilities for applications in electronics, plastics processing, and medical technology.

2024
ACI celebrates its 25th anniversary
From June 6 to 7, 2024, ACI Laser held a two-day open house event for long-standing business partners, customers and companions from Germany and abroad at its headquarters in Nohra near Weimar to mark the company’s 25th anniversary. In the evening, the ACI team celebrated with its guests at the nearby Land Alm in Utzberg.
2023
ACI Laser is an economic powerhouse in Thuringia!
ACI Laser is one of the 90 or so world market and technology leaders from Thuringia to receive an award. Managing Director Mirko Wunderlich accepted the award from Dr Arnulf Wulff (Member of the Executive Board at LEG Thüringen).

Expanding our product range with a new rotary indexing table

A strong partner for 20 years – ACI Team says thank you
Over the course of 20 years, our company has developed from a one-man enterprise to a world leader in development and manufacturing of laser marking systems, and continues to grow steadily today. The ACI team looks back over our 20-year success story and also continues to shape the future of the company.
2018
Automated laser station – expansion of product accessories to include industrial robots
Multi-sided marking of workpieces in all positions is now possible with the extended handling system consisting of a laser marking station and industrial robot. The robot can be used to integrate additional handling processes into the laser station in order to make process sequences and checks in production even more efficient.

2017
Fiber lasers in industrial design – Product launch and opening of sales office in Mexico
ACI is launching a compact laser system with special properties for integrators. The laser marker for the industrial environment and use in production lines can be tailored even more closely to the needs of the user using imaging systems, among other options.
We presented our new products and technologies for laser material machining to prospective buyers from all over Germany at our first POWERDAY trade fair.

2016
Move into the new company building
In summer 2016, we moved into our newly built company headquarters in the U.N.O. industrial estate at Steinbrüchenstraße 14 in Nohra. The modern company building provides optimal conditions for the continuous healthy growth of ACI Laser GmbH.
2015
ACI Laser celebrates groundbreaking ceremony
On June 1, we celebrated the start of construction of a new company building in Nohra, Thuringia, with the traditional ground-breaking ceremony. Modern working conditions for research & development, design, production, support & service and administration as well as a well-equipped application laboratory and a representative showroom for product demonstrations are being created on a total area of 1,300 square meters.
2014
One design – four wavelengths
On the occasion of the Thuringia Tour 2014, we presented our products to Ms. Christine Lieberknecht, former Minister President of Thuringia, during a tour of the company. The claim ‘One design, four wavelengths’ stands for the expansion of our product range to include frequency-doubled and -tripled laser systems.

Introduction of a low-cost fiber laser system
With the Economy Fiber product series, ACI is meeting the increased demand from small and medium-sized companies for a cost-effective entry into material marking with fiber laser technology.

Fiber laser technology opens up new marking possibilities
The new powerful DFL Ventus Marker fiber laser system from ACI not only sets new standards in terms of design. Freely selectable pulse shapes, the high pulse peak power and the usual simple handling make this all-rounder the perfect marking tool.

Cost-effective entry into laser material marking
The diode-pumped marking lasers in the Economy Diode series are the ideal entry-level systems for small and medium-sized companies with a manageable amount of marking work. The DPL Smart Marker is characterized by its extremely compact all-in-one design and is available in various power levels.

Introduction of the second generation and opening of the sales center
A new product design for the marking lasers is intended to emphasize the technical innovations of the new device family. The second-generation compact lasers include the DPL Magic Marker, DPL Genesis Marker and DPL Nexus Marker solid-state lasers, which differ in terms of their performance and application options.

On course for expansion – relocation to Nohra and new laser models
Continuous company growth and increasing employee numbers make a move necessary. ACI Laser moves into larger, modern office and production premises in the U.N.O. industrial estate in Nohra near Weimar. Laser models with further performance classes follow. The DPL Nexus Marker compact laser marker is added to the product range for important application fields in order to further expand the market position in the field of laser marking.

New software interface
The graphically oriented software interface of the Magic Mark marking software is intuitive and enables the user to quickly create marking content and easily operate the entire laser system.

Development of an international sales structure
With the distribution of the diode-pumped solid-state laser DPL Magic Marker, Mirko Wunderlich is initially concentrating on high-growth foreign markets and the development of a worldwide dealer network. A dealer training session with the new sales partners is held in Sömmerda for the first time.

2001
Series production of the first generation of laser marking systems & first ISO certification
The young ACI Laser GmbH is growing and will soon be able to go into series production with the first generation of diode-pumped marking lasers and the associated protective housings. The continuous growth makes a first move within the industrial park in Sömmerda necessary. For the first time, the development, manufacture and sale of laser systems are certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2000.

Development of the first marking laser DPL Magic Marker
Technically and commercially very well positioned, ACI Laser GmbH develops, produces and sells marking lasers for material identification. With the distribution of the diode-pumped solid-state laser DPL Magic Marker, Mirko Wunderlich initially concentrates on high-growth foreign markets and the development of a worldwide dealer network.
